Ever since i have recited Durga Saptshati so far, I have unique experiences and good results. ( Meera, Narsayo and few more are examples) I believe that five minutes with love and concentrated Bhakti reaches to God than reciting 1000 names for hours with mind somewhere else. Yes, there should be some discipline but sometimes love overpower the discipline. If the wait for real Guru as you mentioned I am not sure in my lifetime I may be able to do Bhakti. Many years in my search, I haven’t come across one whom I can say yes he or she is my Guru.(it doesn’t mean there isn’t one)So wasting time in searching for Guru, I decided to follow what my heart says and my intention of Bhakti. Now the question of right Guru, it is hard to decide who is the right one. You are lucky that you have found the right Guru, but I haven’t. It is a faith, and I don’t argue with it. I hope you take this response in the constructive way.ĭear Mahesh, You may be right. Regardless of whether that answer pleases everyone or not, one should know the rules. As per my guru, he will not allow us to read Devi mahatmiyam unless we finish certain lakhs of japam of navakshari. Without chandi (Navakshari) upadesam, one is not supposed to chant Devi mahathmiyam. You should read Siddha Kunjika Stotram after completing the recital of every chapter. You can also complete the recital on 9th day by chanting Devi Aparadha Kshama Prarthana Stotram on 9th day itself.
